Do You Want to Be A Healthier You? Here's How: Tips from Mr. Murphy


In order to be truly successful in life, you must have balance with your health. Your overall health includes your physical, mental, and social/emotional well-being. If you havn't done so already, include these healthy tips towards a better you!
1- Eat balanced, nutritious meals and snacks. This includes lean protein, whole grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables. You'll have more natural energy because of eating well.
2- Drink plenty of water. At least 8 8oz. glasses throughout your day to stay hydrated. Drink more water before, during, and after physical activity, as well, and stay away from sugary drinks.
3- Get at least 30-60 minutes a day of constant physical activity. You have to raise your heart-rate!
4- Go to school, listen, takes notes, study, and ask questions when you need help.
5- Be a good friend, son, daughter, brother, sister, parent or teammate- Motivate and encourage others to try and be their best, and except them no matter what.
6- Treat people the way you want to be treated with kindness and respect. Ask people if they need help when you think it's right. In return, they will thank you.
7- Set goals. Start with short-term goals in order to reach your long-term goals.
8- Take on responsibility at home and do chores or help out around the house. Your family will thank you!
9- Get plenty of rest! This means at least 7 and no more than 9 hours of sleep each night. You've had a long and productive day! Reward your body and it will thank you with more energy the next morning.
10- Last but not least, go to the library and learn even more ways to be healthier.

It's imperative that we understand the importance of good nutrition and how it contributes to our daily lives, especially in these tough economic times. Please read this article, and if you have the chance, help out as much as you can in your local communities, whether it's helping a neighbor, delivering food to a food bank, raising money for food drives, and donating, as well. Do what you can, and I guarantee you'll feel alot better when you help others.
